So I've been perusing magazines and the internet today for ideas to spruce up the containers on my front porch and the garden around my front door. I find that I'm leaning toward purple this season and unearthed (pun intended) several arrangements that I love. Despite my heavy workload right now, I want to make time for this because it just makes me feel better and also because my parents gave me some fabulous lights that I want to put in my garden but there is nothing there to showcase right now, and I mean nothing.
In my search, I also stumbled upon some fabulous recycled container gardens with wimsy. I wanted to share those with you because they were just, well...fun!
Let me first share something about the next photo that I thought was amusing. While I do think the pot is stunning....this photo was pictured with a article on container gardening and the tip featured in paragraph one was that "Less is More". Does this speak "less" to you? Yeah, me neither. :)
Now, what is not to love about these beauties? ...
And, here is the one I am going to try to replicate for my front porch this season. I may have to find a few different flowers that are cold hardy but hopefully it won't take long to look like that....
I'm adding this to my Idea File, for the area around my backporch. We found many of these crocks at the antique fair we just attended and I was drawn to them, especially the ones with the numbers, but I didn't know what I could do with them. Now I know!
I have a small guitar that Caleb played when he was much younger. Look what I can do with it...
One of my best friends loves these old bathtubs. Here is an idea for her. I think its pretty cool!
Shoebag Herb Garden. Oooooh, I got a couple of those somewhere....
Old Dresser. I don't know if I could bring myself to put one of these outdoors though.
And whats a wimsical garden without a toilet.....
This would look cute under a tree.....
Great idea for old tool boxes. You can also find these easily at antique fairs...
Some old wire baskets. Another idea for my backporch....
Maybe I will build a raised bed using reclaimed pallets. Click here for instructions. Be sure to salvage non-pressure treated pallets so you don't die from it.
Did you know that you can also do this with reclaimed pallets? But that might be jumping a little ahead of myself.
Happy Gardening!
